Thank you for taking a look at one of
most original and unique
gifts on the market today. If you are looking for something special for a
birthday, wedding or any other gift giving occasion, I am sure I can satisfy
your need. We all know that one hard to buy for person in our lives that makes
getting a gift a difficult situation. Take a look at some of the pieces I have
made on my gallery pages to see if there is
something there I could make for you. There is a website that I get
many ideas from that has a pattern catalog containing over 650 pictures
of gift possibilities for you to choose from. If you click on this link
http://scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com
then click on the yellow box on the left of his site, you
will see the heading "Free
Pattern Catalog". It is there you will see many of the
possibilities available to you, and most of those ideas can be modified
in many ways to suit your needs.
One of the things I enjoy doing with this hobby is to create wood portraits like the one to the right. Using computer software I create a “light and shadow” representation of a photo that I work into a pattern which I print out. I then use a spray adhesive and apply it to an 8” x 10” piece of 1/8 inch thick Baltic birch plywood. I remove all the shadowed areas and when complete, the portrait itself is a single continuous piece and not puzzled or glued together. I then apply a piece of black felt which really brings out the details.
